Since the beginning of my wife's pregnancy I have been somewhat suspicious of how accurate delivery due dates are.
Well, in fact only about 5% of all babies are born on their due dates, with estimates ranging from as low as 2% to as high as 8%. Whatever the number, my wife is not among the few of every hundred women who deliver on their target date.

Ah, sorry to hear that the due date has come and gone. If thats indeed what you were driving at. The Mrs. and I are fast approaching our due date as well. Family members are actually flying in from Seattle to hopefully be there at the hospital for that magical moment.
No pressure though.
Good luck expectent father. I've enjoyed your blog. Perhaps you start a new blog a soon as your little one arrives. Just a Dad, a blog for new fathers. I'll be one of your readers. I'm sure it will be humorous and informative.
Hi Anon,
Yes, the date has come and gone. I had a dozen out of town family members here this past weekend, all wanting her to deliver, but no such luck.
The doctor will induce her at the 41 week mark, so at least there is an end in sight.
Best of luck to you and your wife. I hope everyone is healthy and happy.
That's a great idea about another blog. I will continue to write on this one because there is so much on the topic that needs to be covered, but will branch out into another blog as well. I'll post the domain of the new blog when I have it. Thanks for the support!
Again, best of luck,
Bill
Is it "congratulations" yet?
Our now-3yr old Caitlin was also overdue. In fact on the due date we were still attending a wedding reception, miles away from any hospitals!
She also had to be induced. Even then it took 3 methods of inducing before there was any action.
Good luck with it. Hope you do start another blog on parenting & we can start comparing notes!
Good luck Bill!
You'll be in my thoughts.
Are you a Daddy yet!?
Thanks Ricky!
Hi Rachael, nothing yet.... just waiting anxiously!
Hi JLow... I'm planning out another one as we speak.
Like I said above, I will continue to write on this one because there is so much on the topic that needs to be covered.
Thanks so much for the support!
